The Origins
In 1963, Franceschetti Gemma Lea and Ferrari Eugenio founded Istà.
In a period of crisis for the fresh product market, the family recognized an opportunity: to preserve the very best of what the land has to offer over time, maintaining its flavor and authenticity.
This is how the name Istà was born, meaning “summer” in dialect, a direct reference to the season of abundance, wholesomeness and quality. A name that, from the very beginning, has embodied the company’s mission: to preserve the flavor of summer all year round.
In 1970, after Eugenio’s passing, Gemma took the lead of the company with determination. With strength and vision, she consolidated the company’s identity, firmly linking the Istà brand to the values of goodness, reliability, and quality.
